Greenville is a North Texas city located in Hunt County about 45 miles away from Dallas.
The city was named after Thomas Green, a general in the Texas Army during the war for independence from Mexico, and today it still has many places of historical interest. The downtown is full of everything from boutiques to historic landmarks to must-visit wineries.
Due to its location on the North Texas prairies, Greenville experiences a windy, humid subtropical climate. During the summer, temperatures peak in the mid 90s and in the winter, they hover around the mid 40s, perfect for residents who don’t like grueling cold months.
As of the 2012 U.S. Census, Greenville had a population of about 25,000. The majority of residents work in manufacturing, retail trade and health care.
