The city of Hermitage is located in the western part of Pennsylvania just off Interstate 80 along the state’s border with Ohio. Slightly more than 16,200 people call this charming community, formerly known as Hickory Township, home. The city was first settled in 1796 after the township was incorporated using portions of Shenango and Pymatuning.
Hermitage has a land area of 29.6 square miles, making it the third largest city in Pennsylvania in terms of land. Just to the north of the city is the Shenango River Lake, which is run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
