Oswego, Illinois, is a village located in Kendall County a little less than 50 miles southwest of Chicago near the southern end of the Fox Valley River. The village prides itself on its small-town charm and character as well as its friendly residents and excellent school district.
The village was settled in 1833 and incorporated in 1852, and Oswego’s location near the Fox River allowed it to grow economically.
As of the 2012 U.S. Census, Oswego has 31,672 residents living there, but the area has seen tremendous growth in the last few years. The population grew an impressive 137.7 percent between 2000 and 2012. Even with the expansion, the cost of living is still right around the national average, so families can live here without breaking the bank.
