Moving a single-family household from one location to the next is a fairly straightforward task. We arrive, we load up the van, we head to your new home, and we unload. Things move in a straight line and rarely become complicated.

However, you may find that your move isn’t so simple. You may have your belongings spread out over multiple homes (or storage units), or you may be combining two separate residences into one new one, as often happens with a marriage. If this is the case, you may need a moving company to make multiple stops along the way.

Moving with Multiple Stops

In a traditional sense, Allied Moving doesn’t typically make “multiple stops.” By this, we mean we do not load up the belongings in one location, stop by a second location to fill it up, and then be on our way. Why? Because in this method, calculating the weight of the shipment and the mileage covered becomes something of a nightmare, and there’s much more room for error than either you or we want.

Of course, there is another option. By breaking your move down into two separate transactions, we can get your entire family moved in together without too much fuss. Here’s how it works:

> You outline your moving needs, including which homes/locations will need to be moved and where.

> Our personal representative will come make an assessment of both residences to devise a moving plan and moving estimate.

> One home is packed up and moved to the second home. (This tends to be much less stressful than it sounds—because everything is boxed up, you can typically schedule the two moves back-to-back without any additional stress or unpacking involved.)

> The second home will be packed up and moved with the contents of both homes included.

> All items will arrive at your destination together.

In this way, multiple homes can be moved and your costs will be easy to track.

Additional Moving Options

Of course, there are additional moving options, including moving the contents of one home to the other on your own or hiring two separate moving vans for two separate transactions. Because every moving agent prefers to handle this sort of situation differently, we strongly encourage you to contact your local office for more information. Personalized moving plans can make all the difference in your peace of mind.
